Assaf Arrogate Bakhur begins with a dry, golden pair: saffron, which is leathery and faintly metallic, and a general spice note that adds warmth around it. Incense and cedar take the heart. Incense is smoky and resinous, cedar dry and clean, so the movement runs from spice into dark, dry, smoky wood.
Four notes share the base: oud, amber, leather and musk. Oud brings dark resin and wood, amber warmth, leather a supple dryness, and musk softens the edges into something skin-soft. Read as a whole, the pyramid is smoky, resinous and dry, an incense-and-wood composition in which sweetness stays well in the background.
Saffron, incense and oud point Arrogate Bakhur towards a dense, smoky character, one for people who like resinous scents with plenty of depth rather than anything light or sugary. It is listed as unisex, and the shop tags it for autumn and winter, and for evening and special occasions.
